Sales pitch

On the last visit, the team of two spent a lot of time on a routine furnace inspection and looked at my water heater too. Both units are pretty old but working just fine, including the heat exchanger, which they said they had inspected very carefully due to the age of the furnace. The way they explained it all I felt like they were setting me up to sell me new units in the next year or so. The rough price estimate they gave me for replacing the units seemed awfully high. They were courteous and appeared to do a good, thorough job. But by the time they were done I felt as if I had been delivered a subtle sales pitch, sewing more doubt about my equipment than it probably really merited.
